Over 30 years of increasing responsibility in all phases of Design and Construction Management, Estimating and Supervision of construction on multi-million dollar projects, including telecommunications, supermarkets, commercial business parks, shopping centers, large church retreat centers, local governmental projects and large custom residential and remodels. Proficient in the preparation and design of full sets of construction documents and details, model renderings, budgets, estimates, bids, proposals, schedules, contracts, subcontracts, and work scopes including implementing ICC/ANSI and OSHPD Standards and Specifications., Title 24 energy codes and calculations and LEED projects. Jack Kalisvaart Design & General Contractor, Carlsbad, CA- Owner /Sr. Project Manager / Designer, 2000- Present. Responsibilities included the design of supermarkets, restaurants, commercial business parks, shopping centers, Medical centers, large custom homes, 60 unit condo renovations, specialized in Design/Build developments. Responsibilities also included using proficiency in concept designs of land developments, building designs and renovations. Work required design submittals for planning commission approvals and client presentations for pre approved projects. Projects also required close coordination with construction management, civil engineers, structural engineers, utility companies and
landscape architects in the preparation of working drawings that required the using of ICC and ANSI Standards for County, and City agencies approvals.
Before my years as a general contractor I was a construction project manager, superintendent and estimator for varies construction companies in San Diego and Orange County areas on projects as large as 15,000,000. I worked closely with Architects, Structural and Civil Engineers, City planning and building departments. Met specifications and deadline schedules for various clients.
